We/I the undersigned believe that it is time for the Military to be brought under the same environmental and public safety regulations as the private sector in order to protect our communities. The U.S. military and all defense-related agencies should have to follow the same standards and requirements as private companies (both large and small) and individual citizens.

We/I support your legislation, the Military Environmental Responsibility Act, that puts an end to the military’s immunity from environmental, worker, and public safety laws and increases the ability of regulatory agencies to enforce compliance. The military should be fully bound by all U.S. laws both in our country and overseas. Congress should also ensure that the EPA and other regulators are held accountable to fully enforce those laws.
